THE WAR WITHIN FOUR WALLS
Sameer Khan Poems anxiety, depression, emotions, feelings, life, love, motivational, Poem, quote, story 0
I sit
in my room,
With my eyes,
closed.
The darkness
surrounds me,
And I start to float,
within four walls,
enclosed.
There’s a feeling
of water,
Filling inside
from all sides.
There’s no escape,
Frightened,
by the currents
and tides.
My body,
suffocating,
to the flow.
The depression
has decided
to finish me off.
But then
I survive,
to breathe,
To swim out
and cough.
My heart
is overwhelmed,
But the end
is near.
I see above
to witness
the roof falling.
Anxiety has lit up,
in me,
an intense fear.
I drown back
into the water.
Only to save myself,
one more time.
But alas,
it’s the depression,
I fight everything around,
with guilt of no crime.

How Depression Killed My Love
Sameer Khan Poems depression, emotions, love, Poem, quote 0
Within me,
Resides a black bird.
Restless, angry,
Fighting her way out.
But never will I let her out.
For, once I did,
And she killed the red bird.
The bird which created rainbows,
Everywhere she flew.
And now that I locked her in,
She flies fierce,
Inside my body, cold.
Her wings bring forth a storm,
Inside me, twisting my bones.
It hurts.
Those pricks beneath my skin.
The itch, on the heart.
She doesn’t chirp the songs,
Like the red bird used to.
She screams the pain,
The roar of angst and fire.
It gives me headache,
An unbearable heartache.
But I can’t kill it.
For I know, it’s one of my own.
Cause I tried smoking cigarettes,
To choke her of it’s smoke.
All she did was rise up,
Above the smoke,
Making my brain, her comfy nest.
I sleep with her every night.
Shedding tears, of which she enjoys.
She chose me as her home,
The killer of the red bird.
